| Alesis is pleased to announce that the company is shipping their innovative new IO|26 and IO|14 FireWire Audio/MIDI interfaces. Fully compatible with PC and Macintosh computers as well as most DAW software, the IO|26 and IO|14 have state-of-the-art DICEII FireWire Audio chips for superior clock stability using DICE II JET™ Jitter Elimination Technology. Audiophile-quality Cirrus converters provide maximum dynamic range on both inputs and outputs. The IO|26 and IO|14 also utilize high definition, transformerless microphone preamps with genuine Neutrik™ connectors, for the lowest noise possible. Both interfaces offer up to 24-bit/192kHz recording for pristine recordings, as well as flexible, routable Hardware Direct Monitoring with the HDM Control panel software. Adding even more to the value of both units, these interfaces are flexible and highly expandable, for studios that want to grow. The IO|26 comes with eight analog mic/line inputs which can be expanded to 24 inputs using two ADAT Lightpipe inputs. The IO|14 comes with four analog inputs, expandable to 14 (with one ADAT input). Also included on the IO|26 are MIDI I/O and S/PDIF I/O line inserts in every analog input, phantom power, two switchable guitar level inputs and a switchable phono preamp input for recording from a turntable. On the unit's rear panel, the IO|26 provides eight balanced line outputs, while the more economical IO|14 offers two balanced line outputs. All I/O on this exceptional interface is balanced / 24-bit, with support for 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, and 192 kHz sampling frequencies. And with its two FireWire ports, the Alesis IO|26 provides easy connectivity to personal computers while enabling additional FireWire devices (such as hard drives or DVD-R) to be cascaded via the second port. For monitoring signals, the IO|26 provides five-segment signal/clip LED ladders on each input. With provisions for two headphone outputs—each with individual level control—the IO|26 is a comprehensive audio/MIDI solution for the desktop recording engineer. Completing the package, both units ship with a copy of Steinberg's Cubase LE digital audio workstation software. For more information, visit their web site at www.alesis.com. |
