Alfred Music Publishing Enhances Popular Singer's Library of Musical Theatre Vol. 1 Songbooks

To the delight of Broadway show tune singers from hobbyists to professionals, Alfred Music Publishing announces that their popular Singer's Library of Musical Theatre songbooks are now available packaged with audio CDs of piano accompaniment tracks that match the dozens of sheet music arrangements within each volume. This new feature allows vocalists to practice or perform the songs anywhere, regardless of the availability of a pianist.

Alfred's Singer's Library of Musical Theatre, which debuted at the 2008 Winter NAMM show, has quickly developed a reputation among singers and professional vocal coaches as the most useful and relevant songbook series of its type. Not only are classic and contemporary musical theatre songs grouped into separate volumes by vocal range to ensure the usefulness of each song to a singer, but historical and contextual commentary, along with 16-bar audition cut suggestions are also included per song. The new accompaniment tracks are a crowning feature that singers and vocal coaches will be delighted to begin utilizing.

Recorded by professional pianists from New York's theatre community, the piano accompaniment tracks on two audio CDs per volume precisely match the sheet music in their correlated songbook. Each songbook contains roughly 35 songs in their original keys, authentically transcribed from their original vocal scores. Currently, two volumes are available for each of four vocal ranges—Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano/Alto, Tenor, and Baritone/Bass—which equates to 280 Broadway hits, or 70 per vocal range!
