Alvarez has introduced four new Masterworks guitars featuring the revolutionary Fishman Aura Sound Imaging System. The new models include the Alvarez Yairi Masterworks DYM95C Aura and the FYM95C Aura, as well as the Alvarez Masterworks MD80C Aura and the MF80C Aura.
The Fishman Aura On-board Acoustic Sound Image system for capturing and recreating a guitar's natural tone that only distance, air, and a high-quality microphone can produce. This groundbreaking technology allows acoustic guitar players to play with a more natural sound either on stage or in the recording studio.
Using Fishman's innovative technology, all four Alvarez models were meticulously documented using a carefully selected range of vintage and modern microphones at Fishman's state-of-the-art recording facility. Six of the best sounding images were then chosen by the Alvarez and Fishman teams and integrated into the onboard electronics. Each sample can be individually selected and mixed with the bridge piezo to re-create the natural acoustic sound of each guitar.
Players can choose from the following six acoustic sound images:
- Neuman KM-84 (recorded at 16 inches)
- Neuman U87 (recorded at 16 inches)
- Soundelux E47 (recorded at 4 feet)
- Shure SM57 (recorded at 16 inches)
- Earthworks QTC30 (recorded at 6 inches)
- Shure SM81(recorded at 16 inches)
While technologically sophisticated, the Fishman On-board Aura is simple and intuitive. Each acoustic sound image can be modified with the 3-band EQ, and changes can be saved to onboard memory. A digital chromatic tuner accommodates all standard and alternate tunings, and the tuner button acts as a mute for silent, on-stage tuning.
