Audix Announces Release of Fusion Mic Packs

Audix, the industry leader in application specific microphones for drums and percussion instruments, presents the next series of Fusion microphones. The newly designed Fusion series consists of 4 models; the f2, f5, f6 dynamics, and f9 condenser. Each of the microphones is available individually or collectively in three new mic packages: FP4, FP5, and FP7. Suited for both live and studio applications, models F2 ($129 list), F5 ($129 list), and F6 ($239 list) are designed, assembled, and tested by Audix in the USA. Features include LM (low mass) diaphragms for excellent transient response, high-output neodymium magnets, extremely directional hypercardioid polar patterns for sound isolation, high SPL handling, precision cast zinc alloy bodies, and durable steel mesh grills. The f9 condenser microphone ($189 list) is designed for overheads, cymbals, and acoustic instruments, and features a 16mm gold vapor diaphragm, a wide-frequency response of 40Hz-20kHz, a cardioid polar pattern, and an impressive dynamic range of 115dB. The Fusion packs are available in three configurations: The FP4 (4 mics/$449 list) consists of 1-f6 (kick), 1-f5 (snare), 2-f2 (toms); The FP5 (5 mics/$559 list) consists of 1-f6 (kick), 1-f5 (snare), 3-f2 (toms); The FP7 (7 mics/$749 list) consists of 1-f6 (kick), 1-f5(snare), 3-f2 (toms), 2-f9 (hi-hat/overheads). Each mic is provided with the snap-to-fit DCLIP mic stand adapter except the Ff which includes the MC1 nylon clip. The entire system is packaged in a heavy-duty custom aluminum carrying case with laser cut foam inserts for up to 11 mics. Optional accessories for the Fusion packs include the DVice rim mounting system ($29.95), the CBDR25 25' right-angle XLR-XLR mic cable ($29.95), the Dflex butterfly mounting clip ($19.95), the D-Clamp clip for lug nut mounting ($29.95), and the STAND-KD pedestal mic stand for use with bass drum and guitar cabs ($44.95).
