Author Admits Fabricating Bob Dylan Quotes

New Yorker journalist Jonah Lehrer recently admitted that his book 'Imagine: How Creativity Works' contains several quotes from Bob Dylan that, well, Bob Dylan never actually said. Apparently the guy expected to get away with it until some real Dylan fan who also happened to be a journalist became mystified by the fact that he could not find any of the quotes anywhere else.

It's good to know that people actually get caught doing this kind of thing every once in a while. Lehrer had to quit his post at the New Yorker, and the publisher of his book has stopped printing (albeit after 200,000 copies were sold).

Upon being informed of the situation, Bob Dylan commented, "Some of those quotes were pretty cool, I wish I really had said that!"

And yes, I did just make up the above quote...
