by Kerry Galloway So what does this sucker have going for it? Well, listen to the drums by themselves and you can hear the kick drum playing the same rhythm.

This line gives a real "locked in" feeling to a track. The tight rhythm of the kick and bass give a stable platform to build on. The Eagles, the Stones and too many other bands to list used this bass line on many songs.

In fact, this is such a generic groove that one of my drummer friends calls it "singer/songwriter groove".

Let's make it sound a bit morte interesting.
