DODs new Bass30 is a floor-based multi-effects processor for the bassguitar featuring sophisticated bass amplifier modeling capabilities.
The Bass30 provides three amp/bass modelsClassic, Modern and Rockeach featuring adjustable gain, four-band EQ, gate and volume. The processor also offers five fretless bass tones (including upright acoustic basses) and twelve synth bass tones.
Five custom circular footswitches provide easy access to the 30 factory presets and 30 user locations. The Bass30s exclusive Phrase Sampler allows bassists to sample up to six seconds of a groove, then play back along with it at the tap of a footswitch, while the "Jam-Along" function enables bassists to patch in a playback device (CD, cassette, etc.) and play along with their favorite songs. A built-in chromatic tuner conveniently eliminates the need for an external tuning device.
The Bass30 includes a frequency selective, fully programmable compressor with adjustable crossover, threshold, ratio and gain levels. An impressive array of programmable digital effects, specifically designed for bass players, are on hand to provide a wide variety of tone-shaping options without sacrificing the integrity of the low end. The Bass30s available effects include: limiter, wah, auto wah, chorus, flanger, phaser, vibrato, enveloped effects, pitch shift, pitch bend, bass enhancer, detune, delay and reverb. parameters, such as volume, wah, amp gain, modulation speed, modulation depth, modulation level, pitch bend, delay level, delay regeneration and reverb level. Each preset has a programmable minimum and maximum value for the expression pedal.
The Bass30 includes a two-way crossover with selectable crossover frequencies, which can be assigned in biamp mode and routed through the low/left and high/right outputs, providing great definition and separation of the highs and lows.
DODs Bass30 is housed in a single rugged, easy-to-carry chassis with a built-in carrying handle for easy transport. Rear panel connections include a single 1/4-inch unbalanced input, two 1/4-inch unbalanced outputs (Left/Low and Right/High) and two 1/8-inch stereo TRS jacks for stereo CD input and headphone output. The unit is also equipped with a HMG PS750 power supply.
The manufacturers suggested US retail price on the new Bass30 is $229.95.
