| In conjunction with company founder Dean B. Zelinsky's return to the business after a 9 year hiatus, Dean Guitars is back in the production of guitars "Made In The USA." The new plant is located in the heart of Wisconsin, where Zelinsky says "fine wood is plentiful." The first line being produced has been named the Dean Time Capsules. The Time Capsules are exact re-creations of the original line of "Made in the U.S.A." V, Z and ML models Zelinsky debuted back in 1977. However, the company is adamant these are not reissues. They are simply a continuation utilizing the same patterns with all work being supervised by Dean B. Zelinsky. They have the exact V style necks, rounded over bindings and incredible tone, that made Dean Guitars famous over 2 decades ago. "These are the features that players of original Deans crave" Zelinsky stated. "I personally worked on all the prototype models," Zelinsky added. The company debuted the line at this winters NAMM show where sales were "a big success" according to company president Elliott Rubinson. Dean is taking on only 50 Dealers in the USA as Dean Time Capsule Dealers. The first 50 guitars of each model are being individually hand signed and numbered by Zelinsky and will come with a certificate of authenticity. Rubinson added that many dealers told Dean they have pre-sold their Time Capsules as 3 piece sets to Dean enthusiasts and collectors. Guitars will be shipping late February. The company plans on adding four to five new models out of their USA plant this year including the very collectible Dean Cadillac model, two new Zelinsky designed models and a USA EVO model designed by Dean Guitars head luthier, Ben Chafin.
