Denon Introduces DN-M991R MiniDisc Recorder

Denon Electronics recently announced the introductionof the DN-M991R MiniDisc Recorder / Player. Developed for a multitude of applications, including broadcast, theme parks, airports and theatre, the DN-M991R’s MiniDisc format offers a versatile alternative to traditional tape and CD cart machines.

User-friendly features, such as keyboard character entry, keyboard operation and a large easy-to-read florescent tube display showing track number and track name, as well a variety of control terminals, including RS-232C, RS-422A, D-Sub 25 pin and keyboard Mini Din, make the DN-M991R the most versatile MiniDisc recorder on the market.

In the playback mode, the DN-M991R offers 25 programmable tracks that can be played back in any order selected. Playback begins less than 0.01 second after the PLAY button is pressed. The Auto Cue function automatically searches for the point where recorded sound starts and then stands by at that point. Up to five cue points may be assigned to each track for quick searching. Playback speed control of ±8% in 0.1% steps controls speed in the preset mode. The Hot Start feature allows up to 10 different tracks to be instantly selected via the keyboard or parallel remote. in mono. The Auto Level Record Start function automatically starts the recording when an audio signal level from an external unit exceeds a preset level. In the event of a power failure, Denon’s pre-UTOC system is capable of detecting the failure during recording and can play back the portion that was recorded immediately prior to power failure. With Auto/Manual Track Increment, you can increase the track number by pressing the REC button at any time during the recording, or the track is automatically advanced after the signal ends. Recording is also possible with or without encoding of the serial copy management system (SCMS), selectable in preset mode.

Editing functions include cue point editing and "Undo", as well as a host of others, including Divide, Erase Track/Erase Disc, Combine, Move, Track Name and Disc Name.
