The engineering behind the new Drawmer TS2 compressor draws on Ivor Drawmer's unique history as both analog and digital audio designer. The goal was to offer a unique compressor solution with an optional 24/96 converter optimized for use with this stereo compressor offering superior resolution and the widest possible dynamic range. With the TS2, users can dial in the desired amount of Drawmer tube warmth via a variable "Tube Drive" control and A/B the results by means of separate switch located on the front panel. The TS2's soft-knee compressor performs exceptionally well in both mixing and tracking applications, with a stereo (link) mode for warming up digital mixdowns, and in dual-mono mode for tracking. An easy to use "compress" control makes best use of threshold and ratio settings to provide a musical result superior to that of a typical VCA compressor. Attack and release controls are independent, offering use to a wide range of sources. The TS2 also includes a fixed threshold (+16) limiter to prevent overload of the digital output and provide maximum output without distortion.
