EASTWEST, exclusive U.S. distributor of Best Service products, is bringing a little sparkle to the music industry with the release of Diamonds of the Orient.
With rare oriental percussion construction kits and single-instrument loops, Diamonds of the Orient takes producers on an acoustical journey from the Caucasus to Balkan with sonic stopovers in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Persia, Chechenia, Turkmenistan, Bulgaria, Greece, Iraq and Macedonia. The large variety of oriental grooves was recorded in high-quality audio and includes instruments such as Nagara, Gosha, Hi and Bass Darbuka, Davul, Bendir, Bongo, Tef, Shaker, Tumba, Zil, Hollo, Udu and Middle Anatolian Spoons. All instruments were played by internationally known musicians such as Natik and Xeyam, Nistemann Sansar, Celal Sansar, Oezkan Durmaz and Emrah Sansar. The collection also offers a variety of time signatures; 3/4, 5/8, 6/8, 7/8, 9/8, 10/8, 12/8 and 4/4, allowing these samples to be adapted to any project.
"The huge variety of oriental and ethnic percussion styles makes Diamonds of the Orient unlike any other collection," says Doug Rogers, president and CEO of EASTWEST. "It includes real percussive gems played by native top musicians, offering users the best in sonic quality and variety."
Diamonds of the Orient retails for $99.95 and is available in a multi-format DVD containing .wav samples, and AIFF, REX2, and SAGE/Stylus RMX ready files. For more information, visit their web site at
