Epiphone Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Les Paul with LE Model

Epiphone commemorates 50 years of Les Paul guitar production with a limited edition 50th Anniversary Les Paul Custom guitar with special artwork highlighting historical moments in Les Paul's career.

Based on the top-of-the-line, ebony-finish Custom model, the 50th Anniversary features a montage on the back that includes black-and-white performance photos of Les Paul, with artist renderings of his famous 1952 "Goldtop" model and his homemade "Log" superimposed over the images. In the early 1940s Paul assembled his Log - one of the first electric solidbody guitars, built on a 4-by-4 pine board - in the Epiphone factory, using the two halves of an Epiphone archtop body as the Log's "wings." His famous signature "Goldtop" of 1952 was Gibson's first solidbody electric guitar. The Les Paul 50th has classic Custom appointments, including gold hardware, engraved truss rod cover, pearl block fingerboard inlays, humbucking pickups and tune-o-matic bridge.

The Epiphone 50th Anniversary Les Paul Custom will be produced in a limited run of 2002 guitars.
