Clapton-style Acoustic Blues - Page 8by Jim Burger
Note how the solo starts off with our "Elmore James" move and then works into a flurry of triplets. It also showcases our E7 fingerings in measure 7. The G# hammer-on is found in measures 7,8 and 11-12 (although only measure 11-12 follows the hammer-on with the strum on the open high-E string as we discussed). Check out the nice Outro in bars 9-12. Note how it ends up in a nice E7(9) chord -- for more on this see my lesson on blues endings. If folks want a more detailed discussion of this solo, please send me feedback and I'll divide it up into several pages. |
