Eventide Announces Software Upgrade for DSP7000 and DSP7500Jan 21, 2003 Building even greater functionality and enhancements into its DSP7000/DSP7500 audio effects processors, Eventide announced today it will ship v.3.0 resident in units starting in February 2003. The new version of Eventide's stereo effects processor features four new effects modules, a host of new preset algorithms, and a number of enhancements to system performance. The v.3.0 software upgrade for the DSP7000/DSP7500 will be available for $149 from Eventide or a free download on the web site. The new DynamicDistortion, Predictive Vocoder, Expander and PitchTime effects modules on DSP7000/DSP7500 v.3.0 will bring the number of preset algorithms to over seven-hundred-and-fifty on the DSP7000 and over eight-hundred-and-fifty for the DSP7500. By modeling uniquely analog distortion types based on a proprietary curve-fitting process, the DynamicDistorition module produces characteristics that are highly responsive to the input signal. The Predictive Vocoder, meanwhile, generates a vocoder effect using a high-resolution physical model of the human vocal tract. The Expander allows dynamic expansion of the input signal, and the PitchTime effects module provides a high quality pitch shifter combined with time compression and expansion. The culmination of significant research and development, this new release adds several hundred new preset algorithms and provides numerous enhancements to the system performance, such as tap tempo. Part of the highly esteemed Ultra-Harmonizer series of Eventide processors, the DSP7000 and DSP7500 boast 24-bit/96 kHz for superior sonic quality and feature the UltraShifter, Eventide's most natural-sounding, formant corrected, pitch changer optimized for voice, and automatic pitch correction along with a full complement of our award winning reverbs, lush choruses, FM panners, sample and hold filters, vibratos, a broad range of modulating delays, stereo multi-band compression, phase shifting, noise gating, and micro pitch shifting, and much more. These products have up to four times the processing power of their predecessor, the DSP4000, and are simply the most powerful and versatile stereo processors available. The DSP7500 offers over a hundred more preset algorithms, including Jay Rose's broadcast and post production presets as well as a 174-second mono sampler, or 87 seconds of phase locked stereo featuring advanced looping, editing and layering capabilities. Both the DSP7000 and DSP7500 are based on our unique "Building Block Effects Architecture" where each preset is its own unique algorithm.
