Full Circle Upright Bass Pickup from Fishman

Nov 09, 2002

In 1979 Larry Fishman unveiled his first acoustic bass pickup, designed in his basement by hand for friends, this first generation pickup became the now famous BP-100. Over 20 years and 75,000 BP-100's later, Fishman unveils the aptly named Full Circle. The goal was to create a pickup that achieves true tonal balance between a bass strings' direct sound and its chamber resonance.

"We bassists now have before us amplification options that come closer than ever to true acoustic tone," states Larry Fishman, an accomplished jazz bass player himself. "Our Full Circle meets the challenge of this new era of acoustic amplification head-on. Whether it's a big, fat and punchy pizz, full voiced arco or rockin' slap, you'll hear all the acoustic qualities, dynamics and nuances of your bass only louder. Once you plug in the Full Circle you will find that it just might be the last upright bass pickup you ever buy."

Encased inside a sturdy aluminum height adjuster wheel, the Full Circle occupies a rather unique position within the leg of a bass bridge achieves an amplified sound with fast attack, lots of body resonance and good resistance to feedback. Unlike bass pickups that add their own signature sound, the Full Circle is designed to have little coloration, providing truer acoustic tone, bringing out the tones of the instrument, not the pickup. The Full Circle is retro-fit on most instruments with ?-20 thread height adjustment wheels and a second aluminum height adjuster is also included, to match the look of the Full Circle.
