Here is Giant Steps de-mystified. Lets ignore the first half of the tune for a second (seeing as how it's the hardest part). Look at the second part that starts when it modulates to Ebmaj in bar 9. The hardest thing about the second half of the tune is that the II V's go by so fast and move up by a tritone from the previous key center. You can make this section so much easier by thinking of Ebmaj in bar 9 moving down a half step by substituting D7sus (b9 13) for the A-7 D7 in bar 10 moving to Gmaj in bar 11.
