| Guild® is proud to introduce two new models to its Traditional Series—the new D-40 Bluegrass Jubilee and the D-50 Bluegrass Special. Each new model is built at Guild's US facility in Tacoma, Washington, and each can be seen and played for the first time at this summer's NAMM show in Austin. For more than 53 years, the Traditional Series has provided the foundation upon which all Guild instruments are built. While each of these models has its own unique sounds, they both feature the hallmarks of Guild's Traditional Series instruments, including solid red spruce tops, solid mahogany (D-40) or rosewood (D-50) back and sides, dovetail neck joints, and lacquer finishes. Both guitars feature Guild's time-proven bracing patterns and, above all, the expert craftsmanship that can only come from building acoustic guitars in the USA since 1953. Each of these D-body instruments also offer the option of coming equipped with the new Wave-Length™ pickup and pre-amp from D-TAR® with the exclusive Load 'N Lock™ battery access. This newly designed system features an under-saddle pickup system that combines a thin, piezo transducer with an 18-volt, low-noise, high-input impedance preamp. The D-TAR® Wave-Length™ pickup's volume and tone controls are nestled in the soundhole for easy access. With all the controls at one's fingertips, and the pickup itself residing at the endpin, there's no loss of tone due to heavy routing on the top side of the guitar. To derive its 18 volts, Wave-Length™ requires two standard "AA" batteries and a proprietary voltage power booster. With its new Load 'N Lock™ system, "AA" battery changes are quick and easy by simply unscrewing the endpin "collar," removing the old batteries and adding new ones. Said Donnie Wade, Marketing Manager for Guild, "Both the D-40 Bluegrass Jubilee and the D-50 Bluegrass Special are ideal for traditional or folk-style players who want a Dreadnaught body with big sound and a loud, rich and clear tone. With the great new Wave-Length pickup and pre-amp from D-TAR as a standard option, they are an incredible value." US MSRP is $1,999.99 for the D-40 Bluegrass Jubilee, and $2,299.99 for the D-50 Bluegrass Special. For more information, visit their web site at www.guildguitars.com. |
