Ibanez Debuts The S Prestige Model Electric Guitars

The famous sleek and slender Ibanez S begins its third decade with flagship models Ibanez calls, "The Ultimate S."

Now With 24-Frets In Both Locking...
"The new S Prestige models take what the S is known for—fast, fat mahogany tone without the fat mahogany weight—and augments those qualities at every level!" explained Shogo Hayashi of Ibanez. "The new S Prestige is the first S with a 24-fret neck. Hardware-wise, you've got the new Zero Resistance ZR2 ball bearing-driven trem and the new ZPS3 spring system so you can get even more radical arming techniques with even better stability. The new pickups, which are exclusive to the Prestige S, are designed to coax even more mahogany warmth and fatness out of the body."

...And Non Locking
"There's also a non-locking version, the SV Prestige," continued Hayashi. "The original S in 1987 was conceived as an all-around player's guitar. That same concept is true for the new SV Prestige non-locking version. Instead of a double-locking system, you've got locking tuners and the SychroniZR non-locking trem. And the SV Prestige is the first Ibanez Axe to offer our Tru-Duo pickups, which offer both genuine single coil and humbucker tones, in HSH configuration. With that kind of tonal versatility, there's really nothing the SV Prestige can't handle."

Both the S Prestige locking trem and SV Prestige non-locking trem models list for $1733.32, which includes a deluxe hardshell case.
