| Debuting at the 2007 NAMM Summer conference in Austin will be Ibanez's popular Mikro compact axe, which now features an onboard amplifier. The new combination guitar and amp, named Mikrosonik, lists for $285.70. The Mikrosonik takes Ibanez's best selling small scale compact axe concept and fits it with a powered speaker where a neck pickup would normally be placed. The use of the optional ACMIKRO adaptor ups the 2 watt output to 2.5 watts. "With the Mikrosonik, there's literally nowhere you can't go to practice or play music with others," said Ibanez's Makoto "Mac" Muranaka on the all-in-one mini axe. "Plus, you can still plug in to a regular amp. It sounds great and it looks great, too—unlike other attempts to add a speaker to a guitar, the Mikrosonik looks like a real guitar. You don't have a big circular speaker staring at you from the guitar body. And the black, red and yellow finishes are inspired by classic Ibanez RG finishes."
