| At Ibanez, 2009 truly is the Year of Paul Gilbert. Ibanez has now reissued his original 1989 signature model as the PGM100RE 20TH ANNIVERSARY model. Plus Ibanez is urging fans to vote for which of Paul's radical-appearance signature models — some of which were originally only available in Japan — should be the next Paul Gilbert Signature Reissue. Available for order now is the limited edition PGM100RE with its unmistakable combination of metallic blue body complemented by pink painted F-holes and pink DiMarzio pickups. The PGM100RE is limited to just 300 worldwide, with approximately just 150 of those slated for the United States. The Japanese-made PGM100RE features U.S.A.-made DiMarzio pickups, a lightweight basswood body fitted with the Ibanez new Super Wizard (same thin, fast and flat dimensions as the original 1987 Wizard, but even stronger), the original Edge locking trem and a deluxe hardshell case. The list price is $2666.65. To see the previous Paul Gilbert signature models, and vote for which one should be the next Ibanez Paul Gilbert signature reissue go to http://www.ibanez.co.jp/PGM20_u/. Voting will be accepted until March 20, 2009. The results will be announced at the Frankfurt Germany Messe musical instrument trade show in April 1 - 4, 2009 and will be available on ibanez.com - Model PGM100RE Paul Gilbert 20TH Anniversary Reissue

Background One of the most gifted artists in the art of instrumental rock guitar, Paul Gilbert is not only one of the very fastest on the fretboard, he is also one of the most musical in the genre with ideas and themes that are never eclipsed by his unearthly speed. Paul's impressive career includes Racer X, Mr. Big, his own solo works as well as teaching in both the United States and Japan (where Paul enjoys considerable acclaim and popularity). While his 2009 PGM20TH Twentieth Anniversary, Fireman, and PGM401 signature models all celebrate the 20 years since the debut of his signature PGM model, his relationship with Ibanez is actually several years longer, which includes his stellar performance at the Ibanez GuitarMania concert at the 1987 Summer NAMM Show, considered to be the "rebirth" of Ibanez with its new roster of virtuoso players. In addition Paul Gilbert is both an in-demand clinician for Ibanez and arguably the most famous collector of vintage Ibanez guitars in the world.
