Now, once you've hopefully mastered those 2 bass excercises, you're ready for the consummate drill: It strengthens the pinky (4th finger), while improving your reach considerably. As with the other excersices, you can achieve the most by playing this in the first position. It also lets you practice your right hand technique, as it goes rapidly from string to string.
