Lucid Partners With WaveFrame For DAW I/OSep 26, 2000 Lucid announced at the 109th Audio Engineering Society Convention in Los Angeles that the company has entered into a partnership with WaveFrame. The Lucid line of I/O Converters will now be available through WaveFrame's dealer channel for use with WaveFrame/7 and FrameWorks/DX Digital Audio Workstations. According to Lucid's VP of Sales, Steve Kawasaki, "We're very pleased to partner with WaveFrame. Lucid converters are designed for the demands of major mastering and post-production projects - a perfect match for the high standards of WaveFrame users around the world." WaveFrame dealers will offer Lucid's ADA8824 (ADAT) I/O for use with WaveFrame's 16 channel Digital Optical I/O. Two units may be used together for 16 channel I/O. Each unit delivers 8 channels of AES/EBU I/O plus 8 channels of 24-bit, 48kHz Analog I/O (A/D/A conversion) via optical digital connection to WaveFrame systems. Setup for the unit can be done via special software from the WaveFrame workstation. WaveFrame will also offer the Lucid 9624 A/D and D/A converters for working with audio at 96kHz, 24-bit resolution. with Lucid to deliver their very high quality converters to our customers. We have tested the combination and it works very well to deliver a pristine signal path through the system. This provides an excellent value for WaveFrame customers." WaveFrame announced immediate availability for Lucid converters for their FrameWorks/DX system. Lucid converters will be available for WaveFrame/7 when it is released in November 2000.
