Melodic Minor Modesby Chris Tarry Pages: 1 · 2 · 3 · 4 · 5 · 6 · 7 The third mode created from the third degree of the melodic minor scale is called Lydian Augmented. In this case we are in the key of C so to derive this mode we would play Eb to Eb from the C melodic minor scale. The chord that is created from this scale (you create the chord by taking the 1,3,5,7 from the mode) would be a Eb Maj(#5). We call it Lydian Augmented because it looks just like a Lydian scale with a raised or augmented 5th note. |
