Nady History

Nady Systems has been designing, manufacturing, and marketing wireless microphones since 1976. One of the first wireless innovators, Nady has sold millions of wireless systems worldwide.

John Nady, an electronics engineer/musician and founder/CEO of Nady Systems, was the first to tackle the complex issue of noise reduction in wireless microphones. In the early ‘70’s, he succeeded in developing and patenting a companding process for wireless which set the industry standard for clear, natural sound. Nady’s original marketing was strictly in music and pro audio, and by 1985, 80% of the world’s top performing acts were using Nady wireless. In 1987, Nady introduced the 101/201 Series, opening the world of wireless to virtually everyone. Nady is also widely credited with having developed the world’s first In-ear Monitor system (1978), as well as the first PLL synthesized UHF wireless, the UHF-950 (1991).

Over the years, Nady has expanded its line into markets other than music and pro audio. The earliest successes in the realm of television production included featured use of Nady wireless on both the 1978 Grammy and Golden Globe Award shows. Nady has also been prominent in the church market, starting with the top television evangelists in the early 1980’s to today’s widespread use by churches and other places of worship throughout the country. Nady’s unparalleled price/performance edge has made Nady a #1 choice for public speaking applications as well.

Since the early 1980’s, Nady has been expanding its line beyond wireless microphones. Early expansion included motorcycle communicators, two-way transceivers, assistive listening devices, telephone headsets, wired microphones and audio accessories for video and camcorder systems. In 1999, Nady launched their professional audio line—Nady Audio—which now includes a broad spectrum of high-quality, durable and affordable audio gear: mixers, amplifiers, crossovers, EQ’s, pro rack gear, consoles, speakers, headphones, studio mics and drum, instrument, and specialty microphones. With distribution in over 100 countries on 6 continents, Nady products are recognized worldwide for their unique combination of quality and value.

In 1996, Nady Systems was recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with an Emmy for Outstanding Technical Achievement in pioneering wireless microphone technology. Today, Nady continues its long tradition of innovative development with numerous new and varied products being introduced every year.
