The Epiphone Elitist Series of guitars and basses features classic Epiphone/Gibson models with upscale specifications not typically found on imported guitars. The series includes four authentic solidbody Les Paul body shapes, the Standard, Standard Plus, Custom and SG Standard; the classic EB-3 bass, and futuristic-looking Thunderbird bass; three semi-hollowbody archtops, the classic Epiphone Sheraton, Riviera and the 1963 Dot (based on Gibson's ES-335), as well as the hollowbody Casino; and four acoustic models including Epiphone's 1965 Texan and Gibson's J-200, J-45 and L-00.

In addition, Epiphone has just added the Elitist Byrdland and Broadway models, two hollowbody guitars with solid spruce tops and highly figured flame maple back and sides. The Byrdland has a shorter 23 3/4" scale and thinner body for ease of play, while the Broadway has a classic full-depth body for added volume.

"The Elitist Series is made for players who require high quality instruments, but don't want to pay the high-end prices," says Jim "Epi" Rosenberg, president of Epiphone. "We even revived several classic Epiphone models that are no longer in production. This series fulfills the needs of a large sector of up-and-coming musicians."

The Elitist Series has professional features including book-matched woods, one-piece necks, USA pickups, nickel hardware, a variety of solid woods, bone saddles/nuts and Grover machine heads. All have a high quality, hard-shell case.
