Among the more significant changes at Parker Guitars in 2002, has been the expansion of the Parker Guitar line. Previously known for the high-end Fly model, Parker has updated the NiteFly line and added the P-Series models.

"These new lines allow us to offer our customer a more diverse selection," declares Parker Guitars' Executive Vice President, Norm Fitton. "They have been one of the keys to our growth in 2002. Dealers are now able to offer customers a range of Parker Guitars, from the P-38 Standard at $749 list, to the Parker Fly Supreme at $5,111. This has enabled us to open more dealers and get Parker Guitars in the hands of players who previously could not afford a Parker."

Before the introduction of the P-Series and expansion of the NiteFly lineup, the average retail price of a Parker was $3000. The updating and expansion of the U.S.-made NiteFly line offers players many of the features of the high-end Fly guitars, with a retail price about half that of the Fly models. The four NiteFly models include the NiteFly-SA ($1,611 list), NiteFly-M ($1,499 list), NiteFly-P ($1,499 list) and the NiteFly-SA Standard ($1,444 list). All NiteFly models feature Sperzel tuners, stainless steel frets, carbon fiber fingerboard, DiMarzio pickup and Fishman piezo, mahogany neck and solid wood body. All NiteFly models come with a heavy-duty gig bag. The Parker P-Series guitars -- the P-38, P-40 and P-38 Standard, each featuring an ash body and maple neck -- are now the most affordable guitars in the Parker line. All 3 models include one humbucking and two single-coil custom wound Parker alnico magnetic pickups, and Wilkinson licensed vibrato with a Fishman active piezo pickup preamp/mixer system (the P-38 Standard is the non-piezo model with pickguard). The latest addition to the P-Series line is the P-44 ($1,149 list), which offers a Flamed Maple top, a solid Mahogany body, a Maple bolt-on neck and a Rosewood fingerboard. The P-44 has quickly become a favorite in the P-Series line, offering chrome pick-up covers and knobs, plus Grover locking tuners. All P-Series models also include a gig bag.

"Many people don't know you can get a Parker for under $2000," explains Parker CEO Drew Hannah. "The P-Series and NiteFly lines offer top of the line Parker electronics and craftsmanship at a very affordable price."
