QSC Offers Free DSP Demo Software

Sound system designers interested in learning more about QSC's new DSP-3 digital signal processing module can now download a free demo version of the configuration software directly from QSC's website.

QSC's new DSP-3 is a powerful and compact digital signal processing solution that offers two channels of independent DSP. The DSP-3 is configured with a software interface that allows users to configure DSP signal chains with simple "drag-and-drop" programming.

A wide variety of DSP functions - including crossover filters, shelf filters, signal delays, compression, peak limiter, and parametric filters -- are represented by objects in a "toolbox." Each can be "dragged" onto a workspace, placed anywhere on the signal chain, and interconnected using simple line drawing tools. The configuration can then be downloaded to the DSP-3's non-volatile memory via an RS-232 port. Other DSP functions such as signal gain, mute, and polarity reversal controls, two-to-one signal mixer, and signal splitter can be also be added. The software also gives users the ability to save configurations to a disk for future useand the ability to print a hardcopy of the processing diagrams and parameters for design documentation.

"The DSP-3 software demo is designed to give audio system designers a better understanding of how the DSP-3's powerful capabilities can fit their own needs," said Scott Kalarchik, QSC audio design liaison. "System designers can gain a hands-on understanding of how to construct DSP signal chains and how to set DSP parameters using familiar Windows tools and simple drag-and-drop programming."

The DSP-3 is $428 (U.S. list price) and is now shipping worldwide.
