Rock Stars, Modern Artists, And Dean Guitars Team Up To Pay Tribute To Dimebag Darrell

Feb 17, 2006

Six-String Masterpieces: The Dimebag Darrell Art Tribute debuted to a music industry-only crowd of 40,000 plus people at the recently held NAMM Convention in Anaheim, CA.

The exhibit is a tribute to one of the most cherished and greatest guitar players of all time, Dimebag Darrell Abbott of Pantera and Damage Plan. The exhibit features 50 Dean ML guitars that have been hand-painted, illustrated, carved and sculpted by top rockers such as James Hetfield of Metallica, Ted Nugent, Jon Davis and Munky of Korn, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Dave Grohl, Billy Corgan, Hank Williams III, Deftones, Dave Navarro, recent Academy Award winners Linkin Park and Kelly Clarkson, as well as modern visionaries Ron English, Derek Hess and Sas Christian plus the top artists in the tattoo world such as Paul Booth, Filip Leu, Guy Aitchison and Jack Rudy.

The exhibit is the largest collection of Fine Art works by rock musicians ever assembled.

The exhibit is currently being booked for a US tour as well as potential dates in Japan and Europe. Following the tour, the guitars will be auctioned with the funds being donated to several foundations that support music education and children's services.

The exhibit received incredible response and is poised to be one of the most captivating and talked about exhibits of 2006. The exhibit was sponsored by Dean Guitars. The Dimebag Darrell line of Dean Guitars was a work in progress up to his untimely death and were released in January 2005 with the full support of his family. Dean Guitars is carrying on the legacy of Dimebag Darrell with this exhibit and the release of the Dimebag line of guitars.

The exhibit was conceived and curated by Curse Mackey in association with Dean Guitars CEO Elliott Rubinson and company founder Dean Zelinsky.
