Sabian Announces 2006 Vault Tour

In conjunction with its 25th anniversary, SABIAN will hit the road Sept. 23 through Oct. 7 with its 2006 Vault Tour. Designed to give local drummers the same treatment as SABIAN's rock-star lineup, the Vault Tour provides an opportunity to get up close and personal with SABIAN's master craftsmen. The tour, which will hit 11 cities throughout the South and Southwestern United States, will also feature cymbal lathing, hand hammering and sonically matching demonstrations.

The tour also gives SABIAN the opportunity to reach drummers and percussionists at the grassroots level while gaining valuable feedback on its cymbals, according to SABIAN's president, Andy Zildjian.

"SABIAN was launched 25 years ago on the principle of 'The Finest Cymbals for the Finest Drummers,' and we feel the Vault Tour epitomizes that," Zildjian said. "The Vault Tour brings years of SABIAN experience and knowledge to the doorstep of the world's most passionate drummers. The tour is about having our master craftsmen create custom cymbals in an up-close-and-personal setting for everyday drummers who share the same passion and enthusiasm for percussion that we do."

The Vault Tour will feature the all-new HHX Legacy cymbal line, which was introduced in January in collaboration with Dave Weckl. The Legacy collection, along with an exclusive selection of prototypes, will be available for purchase on the Vault Tour.

The 2006 SABIAN Vault Tour promises to be the hottest cymbal experience of the year, allowing drummers to step into the SABIAN vault to receive the following:

Cymbal Selection Advice - Attendees can create their ideal arrangement by working one-on-one with SABIAN specialists, including Master Specialist Mark Love, who has created cymbals for such greats as Neil Peart of Rush and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Mark and other specialists will help guests pick their dream setup and "sonically match" a set of cymbals from hundreds of one-of-a-kind models.

Hand Hammering Demonstrations - Witness the art of SABIAN's signature hand hammering process up close to hear the magic tone it creates.

Cymbal Lathing Demonstrations - Take an inside look at a centuries-old process that showcases the dark cymbal exterior cut away to reveal the beauty and the sound of the bronze beneath.
