Visualizing Shapes - Page 4

Last and definately not least is the opposite of visualizing the shapes. This is hearing the shapes. Wow, hearing shapes.

The purpose of this is that you don't always want to be playing away thinking "Man, I bet this shape would sound great on this chord". (Although this can be a fail safe for when the brain just aint up to the task at that particular moment!)

Rather, when your playing your best you should hear the sound of the shape first, and then play the shape second.

This hearing the shape concept is of couse a life long pursuit. I know on the best of days I can't even hear a door slam!

Thanks!
