Sennheiser Demonstrates "The Right Mic" For Musicians At Winter NAMM

Jan 16, 2008

Looking for "The Right Mic" at Winter NAMM? Just go to the Sennheiser booth #6579 — the epicenter of product demonstrations, talent and retail excitement. An amazing lineup of musicians will take the Sennheiser product stage in 20-minute sets Thursday, January 17th through Sunday, January 20th to demonstrate "The Right Mic" for a wide range of instruments, vocal timbres, and musical styles. The live NAMM demonstrations will complement Sennheiser's ambitious in-store point-of-purchase program, which will direct users to the "The Right Mic" for any given application. "The Right Mic" campaign is being unveiled at NAMM and in retail showrooms simultaneously.

Musicians whose genres range from soul to hard rock and from acoustic folk to Irish punk will highlight the versatility of Sennheiser's celebrated line of evolution wired and wireless mics. Multi-instrumentalist wonder Rob Giles will appropriately kick things off with a set at noon on Thursday, January 17th. He'll take the stage again at 3:00pm. Singer/songwriter Jessie Payo will demonstrate Sennheiser's ability to capture vocal nuances with sets at 1:00 and 4:00pm. Brett Cain's rock and roll prowess will test the equipment at 1:30 and 3:30pm, and heartfelt songwriter Jay Nash will round out Thursday's demonstrations with sets at 2:00 and 5:00pm.

Friday's lineup promises a particularly wide range of styles. With comparisons to Janis Joplin, Tori Amos, Whitney Houston, and Billie Holliday, Nina Storey's amazing voice will highlight Sennheiser's wide dynamic microphone range. She will play at noon and 3:00pm. Tony Lucca, winner of the 2001 Los Angeles Music Award for best male singer/songwriter, will play at 12:30 and 3:30pm. The aggressive pop/rock of Australia's Porcelain will prove that Sennheiser can take extreme SPLs without a hint of fatigue at 1:00 and 4:00pm. Finally, the Dirge's raw folk/punk will shake the stage with sets at 2:00 and 5:00pm.

With sets at noon and 3:00pm on Saturday, Debbie Holiday's powerful, soulful voice will beautifully illustrate the depth and transparent clarity of the evolution series vocal mics. A trained vocalist, pianist, and flutist, Adjoa Skinner will follow Holiday at 12:30 and 3:30pm with sets that highlight a wide range of instruments. Down to earth musician Dawn Thomas will play at 1:00 and 4:00pm. Multi-instrumentalist wiz Phil Parlapiano will blend blue-eyed soul with Americana, Beatles-esque pop, altcountry, and jazz with nearly back-to-back sets at 1:30 and 2:30pm. Irish folk/punk outfit The Mighty Regis will fill the gap with comedy-infused tunes at 2:00 and then again at 5:00pm.

The Sennheiser NAMM demonstration booth will close things out on Sunday with three demonstrations. Taylor Greenwood's will sing her funk-infused music at noon and 3:00pm. Nine-piece Concert 9Net will present their jazzy take on classical at 1:00 and 4:00pm, showcasing the breadth of instruments and styles for which the evolution-series excels. Lastly, Tracy Klas' hauntingly beautiful voice will float into the ether of yet another NAMM-gone-by with sets at 2:00 and 4:30pm.
