Story of the Year Biography

Story of the Year is a rock band originally formed in St. Louis in 1996. Initially named Big Blue Monkey, in 2002 they changed their name to Story of the Year because a blues group had already taken the name Blue Monkey. So far, Story of the Year has released two full-length studio albums and their third release is due out in 2007.

Story Of The Year's musical style is quite undefinable but it should be called "Metallic Melodic-Hardcore" for their influences are mainly punk, hardcore screamings can be heard but much melodic singing also, and the presence of the metallic sound is indisputable. Though, no such style is accepted which is called "metallic melodic-hardcore", it doesn't mean that the style does not exist.
