Tama's New "Snare Concepts" Offers A Vast Array Of DrumsJan 22, 2003 Click image for closeup | Tama unveiled a huge number of new snare drums at the Anaheim NAMM Show. The range of sizes goes from small sopranos and piccolos to fat 8 x 14 models. In materials there are metal drums of brass, bronze, aluminum, copper, brass, and steel, and wood ones of maple and birch--with many available in different shell thicknesses for further different kinds of response and projection. The new drums feature the new MUS80A or the MCS70A cylinder driven snare strainers which offer superior accuracy and sensitivity. The MUS80B Adjustable Butt Plate used on the pro snare drums features a detachable bass, which allows bottom head changes without removing the snares.
