Try a Taylor and Get a Chance to Design One with BobJul 19, 2002 Taylor Guitars has introduced "Build It with Bob", an elaborate contest devised to allow the Grand Prize winner to design his or her own custom guitar with company president, Bob Taylor. The Grand Prize winner and a guest will receive an expenses-paid trip to San Diego (from anywhere in the U.S. and Canada), a two-night hotel stay, and a tour of the Taylor Guitars factory, personally conducted by Taylor. At the tour's end, the Grand Prize winner will be allowed to choose the woods, inlays, colors, materials, and body style for his or her special Taylor guitar (Presentation Series and Limited Editions excluded). The finished guitar will be sent to the Grand Prize winner, accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Taylor. Participating Taylor dealerships also have a chance to win prizes, by having winning entries come from their store. The dealer prizes are as follows: Grand Prize (one winner) is two Taylor 814ce guitars, First Prize (one winner) is an 814ce, Second Prize (two winners) is a 314ce, and Third Prize (twenty winners) is a Big Baby. The dealers will receive a supply of promotional t-shirts, posters, stickers, and contest entry forms, and will be able to post a special "Build it With Bob" logo on their store's website. The ad will feature a hyper-link, a campy, '50s-style photo of Bob Taylor's grinning face; web-surfers who click on it will be taken to a special page on the Taylor Guitars website, where they may print out a contest entry form. Customers then can visit their local Taylor dealer any time through September, 2002, try out a Taylor guitar, and hand in the form. A store employee will validate the form and send it to Taylor, and the customer will become eligible to win. For more information, visit their web site at www.taylorguitars.com. |
