Yamaha Drums now offers upgraded ride, crash and hi hat cymbal pads from the new high-end DTXTREME III electronic drum kit as standard equipment on the DTXPRESS IV Special. The ride and crash cymbal pads developed for the DTXTREME III will be included with the DTXPRESS IV Standard model.
Offering amazing sound and feel, the 15-inch PCY155 and the 13-inch PCY135 are three-zone pads that replicate the vibration and sounds of a cymbal's bell, edge and bow. The stick response is uncanny and players can even choke the sound by grabbing the edge of the pad.
"The feel of the cymbal and hi hat pads is incredibly realistic," said David Jewell, marketing manager, Yamaha Drums. "If you closed your eyes, you would be hard-pressed to know that you were playing an electronic cymbal pad."
The quality of electronic drums has increased dramatically in recent years and they are viable replacements for acoustic drums on stage and in the studio. E-kits are perfect for silent practice, teaching and recording. Many houses of worship and other venues concerned with controlling the sound on stage have adopted electronic drums.
"The DTXPRESS IV kits were already an incredible value, but now they're even better," said Jim Haler, product manager, Yamaha Drums. "The sounds are incredible and now the upgraded cymbals boost the overall quality."
The DTXPRESS IV Special (MSRP: $1949.99) includes high-quality sounds sampled from top-quality acoustic drum sets, with 427 drum and percussion voices and 22 keyboard voices. It features a TP100 tunable snare drum pad and three round cymbal pads. The hi-hat controller uses a real hi-hat stand for a better feel and the drums are mounted on a strong curved rack that improves ergonomic efficiency.
The DTXPRESS IV Standard (MSRP: $1,299.99) features a three-zone snare drum pad, 427 drum and percussion voices and 22 keyboard voices, which offer superior sound quality.
