A new BBC documentary, George Harrison: Living in the Material World, will premiere on HBO on October 5th and 6th in the US. Given his penchant for quintessential music documentaries (see The Last Waltz, No Direction Home: Bob Dylan), the film was directed by Martin Scorsese.

Apparently, George's wife Olivia had been approached repeatedly for many years by filmmakers wishing to make such a film about her husband, but when she met Scorsese, she finally realized that such an endeavor would be in good hands.

The pic reportedly contains footage and interviews with Olivia and Dhani Harrison, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono, Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynne, Eric Idle, Phil Spector and Tom Petty
