ActiveMusician accepts on-line credit card orders only, and currently ships only to the 48 mainland United States. This allows us to keep our processes automated, which results in low costs that we pass on to you in the form of lower prices. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Your credit card information will not be stored in our company database and all payments are guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Safe Shopping Guarantee
We guarantee that every transaction you make at ActiveMusician will be 100% safe. If unauthorized charges are made to your card as a result of shopping on our site, we will reimburse you for all payments you may be required to make relating to those charges. We ensure your security by using "secure socket layer" (SSL) encryption technology - the same technology that is used by most of the Internet's most trusted stores. This technology encodes all your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet. And when that information arrives here, only our secure computers can decode it. Your credit card number will not be stored in our database, so there is no chance of someone "hacking" into our computer and stealing your credit card information.
Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your bank cannot hold you liable for more than $50.00 of fraudulent charges. If your bank does hold you liable for any of this $50.00, ActiveMusician will cover the entire liability for you, up to the full $50.00. ActiveMusician will cover this liability only if the unauthorized use of your credit card resulted through no fault of your own from purchases made at ActiveMusician while using the secure server. In the event of unauthorized use of your credit card, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.

Credit Card Security
In order to protect our customers against fraudulent credit card transactions, ActiveMusician has certain standard security procedures. If you intend to ship your order to an address other than the billing address on file with your credit card company, this may lead to slight delays in order processing as we will need additional verification. The verification process should take no more than 1 business day as long as you provide valid contact information, and all orders will be processed promptly once the verification process is completed. However, the best way to ensure prompt processing of your order is to have it shipped directly to the billing address on file with your credit card company
In order to verify your order, a representative of our company may contact you by telephone or email to go over the information relating to your order. We apologize for any delays cause by the verification process but it is a necessary step in order to protect our customers against fraudulent credit card transactions.
As part of the security verification process ActiveMusician.com reserves the right to, at its sole discretion, cancel any order or refuse to ship to an address other than the cardholder's billing address as it appears on file with the cardholder's credit card company."

Satisfaction Guarantee and Return Policy
We have a 30-day no-questions-asked return policy. If you have a problem with your purchase, you may return it for a full refund of the price of the merchandise as long as you submit a return request to us within 30 days of when the product was delivered to the shipping address on your order. Holiday shoppers should be pleased to note that items purchased between November 1st and December 31st may be returned by January 31st of the following year.
Note that we only refund shipping costs for defective items or items that have been shipped in error. All returned items must be in their original packaging, complete with warranty card and owner's manual (if applicable), and show no signs of wear or abuse. The packaging must also be in original condition. Credit card purchases will be refunded by credit card credit.
Non-Returnable Items
Although our return policy is extremely generous, there are a small number of items which must be exceptions to our return policy for various reasons. These exceptions are necessary and we attempt to make them clear to you when making your purchase – if an item is listed as non-returnable, please take this into account when making your purchase. If there are any questions as to whether an item is included in the list of exceptions, please contact us before you buy. The list below includes items that are not covered by our return policy. These items may be returned for refund, replacement or exchange only if they have not been opened, if they have been found defective, or if they were damaged in shipping:
- All Software, MIDI Diskettes, Sample Libraries, Style Disks, Sound Expansion Boards, Sound Cards, and Hardware bundled with Software cannot be returned once opened due to copyright law, unless you have obtained a return authorization from the product’s original publisher/manufacturer.
- Talk Boxes, Harmonicas, Reeds, Mouthpieces, and any other items that touch your mouth, your nose, or your inner ear cannot be returned once opened due to hygienic considerations.
- Cymbals cannot be returned once opened due to the fact that they immediately show use.

Changing or Canceling an Order
Once an order has been placed, it begins processing immediately and therefore it is very difficult for us to honor any requests to change or cancel orders. Furthermore, we do not keep credit card numbers on file, so we are not able to make any changes to an order that would result in additional charges, such as adding items to an order or upgrading shipping.
Should a need arise to change or cancel an order, please contact us by email at orders@activemusician.com as soon as you are aware of the need to make a change. We will do our best to help you, but due to our rapid order processing and highly automated systems, we cannot guarantee we'll be able to honor any such requests. Please note that we are happy to arrange for return of an order if we are unable to cancel it, however in such cases shipping costs will not be refunded.
Please do not call our 800 number with order change requests, as our telephone customer service representatives are not authorized to make changes to orders once they have been placed. Simply email us at orders@activemusician.com with your request.

Returning an Item
If you need to a return an item due to error, defect, or dissatisfaction, please email our customer service department at orders@activemusician.com and inform us of the order number, item to be returned and the reason for the return. In your email, please don't forget to mention your order number. We will respond within one business day (often sooner) with further instructions for returning the item and obtaining a replacement or refund.
We will issue your credit card refund or store credit soon after receiving your return. All returned items must be in original packing, complete with warranty card and owner's manual, and show no signs of wear or abuse.

Shipping Costs
Standard shipments in the USA will be sent by UPS Ground, FedEx Ground, or USPS Media Mail. Overnight shipments will be sent via UPS Overnight or FedEx Standard Overnight. Our calculation of shipping costs is based on a calculation of actual shipping costs -- unlike some other sites we do not attempt to add to our profits by overcharging for shipping. Our site will calculate shipping charges for you automatically early in the checkout process, and you do not need to buy anything to see these charges.
Please note that we ship from multiple warehouse locations. If you are placing an order for several items and the shipping costs appear high this is probably because your order cannot be shipped from one location and therefore is being subject to two or more carrier shipping charges. We must pay these charges and we do pass these charges on to our customers. However, if you feel that our shipping calculator is coming up with excessively high shipping charges please contact us by email at orders@activemusician.com and we will look into it for you.

Free Shipping Policy
ActiveMusician.com is currently offering free shipping on eligible products for orders over $199. The following restrictions apply to this offer:
- Offer is limited to orders placed at the ActiveMusician.com website.
- Offer only applies to items that are listed on the ActiveMusician.com website as eligible for free shipping. For information on whether a product is eligible, please consult the "shipping" section on the page describing the product on the ActiveMusician.com website.
- Offer is limited to the lower 48 United States.
- Offer is limited to items currently in stock (i.e. no "rainchecks").
- Orders with free shipping are sent via ground shipping. Regular shipping charges will be applied to orders sent via other shipping methods (e.g. Two Day Air, Next Day Air).
- Non-eligible products are subject to regular shipping charges. If a qualifying order contains both eligible and non-eligible items, then shipping charges will be applied ONLY for the non-eligible items, eligible items will be shipped free of charge.
- Offer is limited for a certain time only and may be changed at any time.
- Offer is limited to orders where the total cost of items is over $199 (before shipping costs or any applicable sales tax).
- If an item is purchased with free shipping and then returned, shipping charges will be deducted from the amount refunded to the customer unless the item is being returned due to a defect.
Please note that, although our free shipping offer is extremely generous and applies to the vast majority of the products that we offer, we are not able to offer free shipping on all items due to high shipping costs. Information on whether an item is eligible for free shipping or not can be found in the "shipping" section on the page describing the product on the ActiveMusician.com website -- any item that is not eligible for free shipping will be listed as "Not eligible for free shipping".
The following types of items are generally not eligible for free shipping:
- Items that are extremely large or heavy, such as some amplifiers, guitar packages, DJ/audio packages, speaker cabinets, keyboards and pianos, large drums, cellos, upright basses, equipment cases and other large items
- Items that are shipped in multiple packages such as lighting and PA systems, drumsets, and other equipment packages

Potential Sales Tax
Any orders sent to a shipping address in New York State will be assessed 8.375% sales tax, in New Jersey 7% sales tax will be assessed. No sales tax will be charged to orders sent to other states. Any sales tax due will be added to your total cost during checkout, and you do not need to buy anything to see these charges.

Delivery Time and Product Availability
Orders are processed at 1PM Eastern Standard Time on the day that they are placed. If they are placed after 1PM EST, they will be processed on the following day. Orders placed after 1PM on a Friday or the day before a holiday will be processed on the next business day. We strive to ship all orders within 48 hours after they are processed. Standard UPS and Fedex Ground shipments should take an additional 3-6 days for delivery, while overnight orders are shipped in 1 day. This means that standard orders should reach you within 5-8 business days of order placement and overnight orders should be received in less than 3 business days. Note that if you select USPS Media Mail, there is no guaranteed delivery date -- USPS Media Mail usually takes 3-10 business days but can take up to 3 weeks. If you have a delivery deadline, we do not recommend selecting USPS Media Mail as your shipping method. In cases of unforeseen changes in product availability, we will send you a notification if we are unable to meet these delivery deadlines.
Please note that we ship from several different locations, which means that all items that you order may not be received at the same time.

The easiest way to have ActiveMusician products delivered quickly to your doorstep is to use our on-line checkout system. However, if you prefer to order by phone you can call 1-800-923-8166 toll-free, 24 hours, 7 days a week. This phone number is for orders to the United States only, our phone operators are not able to process orders for non-US addresses. To speed up the ordering process, please know the item #'s of your purchase before calling.
