Picture yourself in a hot air balloon, all alone, floating through the clouds. This is the image a student can use to play this solo by Scott Price. Written in the key of B minor, occasional accidentals in the accompaniment give the harmony a modal sound and quality. Use of the upper registers of the keyboard will allow students to develop a delicate and musical interpretation of the A section and its return. The syncopated damper pedal adds to the overall effect of this solo.
