Ibanez GRG170DX Electric Guitar - Candy Apple Red

I have played roughly 30 ibanez guitars in my time and i have to say that this is the only one i have a problem with. I am very unpleased with this guitar. Its ok to look at tho.

Features: The glossy black finish looked good. Pickups sounded up to standard for the price.

Playability: The guitar to play was nice, exeptable action and comfortable. The main flaw for the guitar is the fact that it didnt stay in tune. I changed the strings, streched them all in as usual.. still came out of tune. In the end i got pi**ed off and took it back for a new one. Same problem again. When i took the guitar back for the second time and i was told that i could get the problem sorted for an extra $90. This is not a minor flaw that is exeptable, you cant gig with a guitar that comes out of tune every 10 strums. Although the detuning problem can be sorted out, i dont belive it should have to be.

Sound: I never took the guitar on stage or to the studio. It sounded nice when i played it through my amp tho. It had a nice wame clean sound to it which i liked.

Durability: Climate changes... all you need to do is strum the guitar and it goes out of tune. I would only consider taking it on stage to smash up to be honest.

I was given this guitar for a present and it still is the best one yet!!!

Features: I have an Ibanez GRX-170, and i reckon shes the most beaut guitar ive ever seen. it has a maple neck with a navy blue body.

Playability: Im still getting used to not allowing my arm to slip off the body when i sit n play, because its very slippery.

Sound: I have an ibanez amp too and an ibanez tuner. Gotta love the distortion button on the amp too.

Durability: It is definately reliable enough to play at live gigs. I usually tune it every second time i play it.

It is a brilliant guitar, and I have enjoyed playing it very much. I looked also at Squier strats, teles, and a variety of other guitars including Yamahas and Epiphones, due to their prices, but this was by far the best. If this guitar were stolen, yes, I would definitely replace it, because it is great to look at and play, and on top of that, it's not too common.

Features: I have a black version of this guitar, although it also comes in blue, purple and grey. 2 Knobs, one five way selector for a HSH set up, and also a tremelo system. The only problem with it is there is no pickguard.

Playability: My guitar came set up with great action, and the neck ssems to be very well made. It can easily outplay a Squier Strat (about the same price). It's good in overdrive but has sustain not so good, and a few other problems clean.

Sound: I use the Marshall MG10CD (which is a very good budget practice amp), and I play all sorts, mainly rock and punk rock though. It seems to be pretty good all round. The pickup set-up allows the guitar to have a deep full sound at the bridge humbucker, a nice warm sound midway between the back and middle, the middle has a good, although perhaps a little shallow sound, ranging to very clear sounds at the front. It does have problems with electric currents from lights and PC monitors, and buzzes, and so I am considering getting it shielded.

Durability: As far as I can tell, its a solid guitar with very few durability problems... although the lack of a pick-guard means that there are little scratches all over mine!
