Ibanez GRX20Z Electric Guitar - Black Night

I didn't look at any others, this was the only one that fit my price range out of all the left handed guitars.

Features: I know it was made in Asia for a real cheap price. It has an agathis body (not worth the cost), maple neck w/ rosewood fretboard, twenty two frets, factory powersound pickups, h/h config, passive.

Playability: The thing sucks, the day I took it home, the nut that goes to the output fell out, I've had problems ever since.

Sound: It only sounds good because I use a Behringer GM110, which has amp modelling, and makes the sound pretty much better than it normally would have been with the last amp I had.

Durability: I only play the guitar for an hour at a time,it goes out of tune in about twenty minutes, whithout any abuse/whammy.

I could find a lot of guitars that are more stylish than this one, and i chose is because i needed a in-expensive starter guitar to jam on, but the quality is so great it could compete with the ones that run for $1,000. If my guitar was lost or stolen and i had the same amount of money i would definately buy this guitar again. I love everything about this guitar, but my favorite part of it is the Whammy bar.

Features: Even though it is made from Japan this is one great guitar no lie. The neck is a GRX with an Agathis body. Medium 22" frets with six stings. 2 pick up switches (only 2 pickups), one tone knob, and a volume knob. Neck Pickup- PSND1, Bridge Pickup- PSND2. The best part of all is the Whammy Bar.

Playability: I play heavy metal/death matal and i am able to play this easily and it fits the style (it's a mean looking guitar). The neck has no effect to my playing and best of all it's easy to tune since you dont have to go on each side of the neck. I think it plays just as well as a Eddie Van Halen signature "Frankinstein", or Angus Young's Gibson. The quality is a bit tough when screwing in tightly (it wont hold as tight as it should)but thats about it.

Sound: I use a Marshall 250 Watt Pre-Amp, with a digitech Death Metal pedal. The guitar fits with my favorite styles of heavy metal/death metal, but if your playing blues, classical,funk, or country than you need to find yourself another guitar. My sound is dark, very dark, but it's a lot of fun to play. The sound is just as good as my dads Dean. It's only noisy when the amp is turned up lol!!! I haven't been in a studio so it plays very well on stage ( i have used it on stage cranked up all the way to 10 and it gets an A+).

Durability: It is very reliable for playing on stage except I ofetn get worried about the strings snapping but thats a whole different subjecy. I rarely ever have to adjust it, as a matter of fact I haven't had to yet. The strap locks bother me when i am jumping around becuase the strap flys right off a lot of times. I live in a very humid place during the summer, and very cold during the winter and nothing has happened to it yet.

This is a great intermidiate guitar, one for those that don't or can't spend too much money.

Playability: This is a great guitar, better than any of my others, all Les Pauls

Sound: Ibanez IBZ10G amp, Crybaby Fasel pedal, Elixer polyweb strings, Nobels FUZ Ultra Fuzz Guitar Pedal.

Durability: It got beaten up, a lot. it still sounds great. I live in alaska, the climate doesn't change much, pretty cold all year arounds.

This is definitly a great guitar for a beginner or somebody needing a steady backup instrument. For those who have never picked up a guitar before, it is a wonderful introduction into the world of rock and roll.

Features: Made in Indonesia, rosewood fretboard, standard 24 frets, 6 string, volume+tone nobs, 3-way switch config, 2 hummbuckers, non-locking tuners, dark blue metallic finish.

Playability: While almost any kind of action is attainable on this light-weight, flexible guitar, it tends not to stay in tune for extended periods of time if put through heavy use.

Sound: For years, Ive used this guitar with a fender princeton 65 amp with a zoom 505 effects processor. Started off with blues-based rock and roll and eventually transformed into modern rock. This is definitly not a studio guitar since its unrefined and not-so-modifiable sound is meant for the stage.

Durability: It is good for steady live playing, as long as a backup guitar is there just in case. Durability of the tuning tends to be a little problematic at times, and the neck warps eaisly in sudden climate changes.

Great first guitar! Great Live Guitar! enough said...oh except that im left handed, so righties can buy it for under $200!

Features: This was my first guitar, and i still use it. It features 2 humbuckers which supplies a more rock sound than the Fender i recently bought. It has a volume and a tone control, and 22 frets.

Playability: For a first guitar, this is a great buy. No flaws still and ive had it for over a year. One problem is my high E string breaks some what often, but i dont know if that has anything to do with the guitar itself.

Sound: I use a Marshall MG30 and a Fender Deluxe, pretty good sound. Sometimes with the Marshall, i get excess noise when the gain is high, or the volume is up, but chances are thats the pickups. Well suited for rock, and best for use on stage.

Durability: Its pretty reliable. One problem with steady play is that the bridge isnt fixed, so sometimes the strings go out of tune when they are loosened by playing. Strap buttons are fine and everything holds up pretty well.

I would highly recommend this guitar, even over more expensive brands. It's an ideal starter guitar for rock, blues, etc. and if I was good enough to gig I'd use it. It's never let me down. I looked at the Fender Squire Strat and a used Mexican Strat, but I'm glad I picked the Ibanez. If it got lost or stolen I'd pick another one up on Ebay - for some reason I see a few of these for sale. I'd like to see a second volume control on this, but one is okay. Also - I'd like the input to be on the front of the guitar, since it pulls out easier on the bottom.

Features: Dual humbuckers, metallic-blue finish, contoured agathis body, rosewood fretboard.

Playability: Unbelievable playability for the price. This was my first axe. I bought a few different guitars, but I can't bring myself to sell this one - it sounds too good. I lowered the action on this guitar and the neck has forgiving wide frets. I primarily play rock and blues and I'm faster on this fretboard than on my LP100 or Tele.

Sound: I'm using a Peavey 15w practice amp and a RP200 effects pedal. The humbuckers in this guitar crunch out full and warm, even at lower volumes. It's strung with .10's and there's very little fret buzz at all. NO noise at all from the electronics. Sounds good with .09's as well if you play ultra lights - no adjustment needed.

Durability: This is my 'beater' guitar that I throw in my car and take with me to every practice. It durable and barely goes out of tune when you zip it up in a gig bag. Seems to fare well in climate changes, since I leave it in my car once in a while. I haven't had to adjust it yet - and I've had it for 2 1/2 yrs.

I love my guitar. When I first saw it I knew it was the one for me. We just clicked. I love the way it is put together. It has an almost edgy look to it.

Features: A beautiful metallic blue that shines forever.

Playability: The tremolo bar sometimes gets in the way, but otherwise, it is rather simple to work with. It keeps tune very well, and is very easy to play.

Sound: I use a crate amp with on-board dsp. It is somewhat confusing to find all the different sounds you can use, especially mixed with the tone on the guitar. The sound is awesome, but I have to keep the volume way down so I can play it in my room.

Durability: I have had no problems occur using this guitar.
