Hartke Kickback 15 120-watt Combo Amp

This is a great combo amp for the price. I have tried Ampeg & SWRs before I settled with Hartke and the Hartke can handle higher volume better than the other two. Maybe its the aluminium cone???

Features: Input, volume, Low EQ, mid EQ, high EQ controls, headphone jack & direct out. Basic indeed. Most notable though is the shape control that gives you greater flexibility in sound.

Sound: Very clean, deep sound coming from the 15 inch speaker. The shape control gives me great control over the type of sound I am looking for. I won't play it any higher than a 4 or 5 on volume, but this is true of any amp I play thru.

Durability: I have had it for a few months now and it takes a good beating. I bought it because I need a good practice amp and something to haul to small coffee house gigs. So it had to be tough & at a moderate weight. For 120watts with a 15'speaker, it only weights 47Lbs. Built like a brick house too!

Features: Between the 3 seperate high low and mid EQs and the shaping control (which kicks serious arse) I can basically dial in any tone I wish. It has the ha1200 head which has 120 watts, more than enough for playing around the house or with my friends and just right for working as a monitor at a small club.

Sound: I generally don't use many fx, but it does sound pretty darn cool with a bass wah. I play jazz, blues, and rock and the kickback sounds great, it's clean and punchy at high volumes.

Durability: Very reliable, very steady, hmmm, durable? the front is a steel meshing

Why pay over $1000 dollars on an expensive rig? If you are looking to play with a band at small gigs and parties (20-50 people)...this is a perfect amp(I don't recommend it for large venues). It can keep up with the drums and guitars easily and still maintain a quality sound (and it's light!!!!). The tilt back design is great for emphasising upper frequency tones....or to just use as a monitor. I would replace this amp in a heartbeat. If you are just starting out on bass....I urge you to consider this little beast!

Features: Solid state mono bass amp with 3 band eq and a shape control. 120 watts @ 8 ohms....about 45 lbs with a sound hole in rear. XLR direct out for going into PA. No channels or effects loop...this no-nonsense amp is made for ease of use and portability. (FX loop would be nice)

Sound: It's a little tank!!!! Lots of power for it's size. Sounds good with any bass....but perfect for jazz style basses....has great amount of punch and clarity with plenty of warm low end. Shape control and eq allow me to dial in a number of different style tones. I've played through Crates, Fenders, and Peaveys...and this by far has a better sound quality. Definitly geared with bass in mind!

Durability: So far so good.....construction is quite solid

This is definitley a good amp if you need a lot of power but dont have a lot of cash. A good value.

Features: The Hartke Kickback 15 has a very simple tone controls that was made it easy to create my own sound. It really didn't matter that it didn't have a effects loop since i have a Digitech BP200. Its very powerful for the price and size.

Sound: This amp pretty much adapts to any style you play. It sounds it's best when I play slap bass. What I like is that the sound is almost as good as something that is a 100 dollars more.

Durability: Its one tough amp.

Compared to peavy, and yorkville I would say this amp has the power, price points, that the others did not. I've grown accustomed to hauling this lite little brute around and would replace a stolen unit. It could have a speaker extention jack, or a low-z so as to plug into the house pa. favorite aspect is the wedge tiltback and power amp aspects.It has a high tech aluminim speaker in it.

Features: Has a standard compliment of tone controls with a parametric eq mode button for centering a particular frequency. no channel switching or effects loop. 120 watts of room shaking thunder per pound of unit.not stereo and is solid state electronics.

Sound: I use a zoom 708 pedal straight in the input jack.Amp handles most hard to middle of the road roll I throw at it never use the vol past 4. It is a standard work horse amp handling various styles of bass guitars and music styles. little hum with a cheep mex 5 string by fender. I don't distort or run at high gain so this is a mote question.

Durability: Built like a monitor speaker and just as tough mine had been abused but got a face lift and works fine no electrical problems just a dusty cover and bent spkr screen.

Great beginner to novice amp, and super for small clubs and recording.

Features: This is a great "club gigging" amp. Great power, but can get a little muddy on the super low end. Very, very durable (about 50+ gigs and counting). Should be run through the P.A. directly and doesn't lose anything on the signal. Very convenient when positioned as a floor monitor (as we bassists know is key because the guitar player's ego seems to always match the volume of his instrument coming through the P.A. floor monitors). I have moved on to a new amp (seperate head and cabinet)but this will stay on with me as a practice amp. Great value and versatility for the $$$, but down the line we all need something more powerful.

Sound: I run my bass through a Zoom pre-amp and then into the kickback. The shape knob (contour) adds much more flair to any bass signal (direct or through any pre-amplification).

This amp is good for new bassists. i would rather have a GK 1001RB/210 amp. i has more power that i need badly.

Features: The features are ok. it has a 3 band EQ, and a shape control. no effects loop or channel switchingit has 12o watts. and is solid state.

Sound: I like the sound quality but 2 months after i bought it the volume deminish. it didn't have the loud thump iit had whn i first bought it.

Durability: I wouldsay itis fairly durable except fr the volume problem.
