Washburn HB35 Hollow-body Electric Guitar - Natural - with case

Would be perfect with a few upgrades: graphite nut, locking tuners and refinishing the neck in satin (tsung oil). But, wouldn't trade it for the world!

Features: A US made guitar, very bluesy feel. All maple construction, triple "skunk" binding with a glossy blond finish. Bound tight-grain rosewood neck with 23 frets. Semi hollow body, double cut away with 2 f-holes. 2 stock humbuckers (neck and bridge)double volume and tone controls. Unique bridge with seperate, adjustable saddle assmbly. All hardware "gold" plated (well, it used to be).

Playability: Nice mid action, but some frets needed to be filed when purchased. Plays very well in diverse range of styles. Highly varnished neck can become sticky if not kept oiled. Stock tuners drop off slightly during extended play. A larger guitar, it can get heavy if you are out of shape!

Sound: Very sweet clean tone. reverb enhances natural "liquid" tone. Bass rings true without drop off or distortion. Heavy overdrive becomes slightly muddy. But, a good vintage blues overdrive makes for a very "creamy", sexy growl.

Durability: Action and neck hold up very well. Tends to go out of tune when played extensively. Very durable for live shows (surprising for a semihollow body). Heavy varnish hides nics and scratches very well.

I love this guitar - If I had to replace it I would probably try to find another 35S (I think they're out of production?) My only complaint is that I broke a lot of strings, but replacing the stock sadles with graphite ones has helped that. What an axe!

Features: Nothing beyond the usual - two humbuckers each with a tone and volume pot. Excellent craftmanship.

Playability: Pretty easy (read as low) action for a jazz guitar - I can play with 12s pretty easily on this thing

Sound: Great right off the shelf, but as usual if you slap some heavier strings on it she really sings. A very full sound (almost too full)

Durability: I've put her through the ringer over the last few years and she still looks and plays great.
