This is the best instructional book I have ever used without being frustrated. This book can be used as it states" start from anywhere you want " It has confirmed allot of things I only thought might be happening with my playing and has really opened some doors for me. There is no CD, this is a no nonsense bare bones approach to what you should know and reaffirms what you do know so you are not chasing your tail. I learned where Santana plays on the neck and why and allot of other big names. I learned why certian areas are choosen over others for lead playing. I learned the CAGED system and if you don't already know it you are missing out on something you may only know part of. Great book I highly recommend it, and I have tried allot of books. This book is great because if you get tripped up you can go to another part of the book and spend some time there and then come back to the part that gave you trouble.
