Description: This piece is written in G position, is 32 measure long and in 4/4 time. The melody is both staccato and legato and spans six octaves. Purpose: Students are encouraged to tell a musical story through the use of tempo changes, contrasting touches and the use of dynamics and different octaves. Suggestions for Instruction: This is a descriptive piece depicting a humorous encounter with a chili pepper while eating. Students should be encouraged to visualize the scenario- eating happily, detecting the chili pepper, running for some water, cautiously confirming its absence and then resuming eating once again.
