Eric Clapton - Unplugged

Great tabs, and the CD is really helpful. Classic tunes. This gave me my introduction to slide playing. Learn this book, and you're ready to do an acoustic gig. More than that, learn this book and you'll have an arsenal of blues licks and techniques for both acoustic AND electric playing.

I can only give this a poor rating. In "Hey Hey" an entire section of the tune is missing. Any of the solo's that I've copied into TablEdit (so I could play them back slow) sound nothing like the recording. At least they got the chords right... I know they messed up some of the words too.

I really enjoyed this book, it has helped me tremendously towards playing his blues riffs, progressions, and melodies. This book is a must for any acoustical loving blues guitarist, must get unplugged album to enjoy the full potential of the book.

Excellent book.

If there's one tab book you're gonna splurge on, this just may be the right one! This book has a buttload of the songs you're gonna want to be able to play acoustic, including lots of good blues stuff, "Tears in Heaven" and the acoustic version of "Layla". Personally, I have to admit that I have only looked at the blues stuff in here and I generally don't try to learn Eric's solos, focussing mainly on picking up his riffs, but that's enough for any acoustic bluesman! I think that the blues stuff on this album is Clapton's best, better than "From the Cradle". It was a happy day in the Burger household when I mastered "Hey, Hey", and you really can't criticize "Nobody Knows You When You're Down & Out," "Alberta," "'Fore you 'Cuse Me," or "San Francisco Bay Blues" (the latter especially if you double on kazoo).
