Born to Freedom

The premise of this musical is that young people today understandably cannot feel the same connection between their lives and that of Martin Luther King, Jr. as do older generations, who remember him as a contemporary. The writers of Born to Freedom have created a meaningful, yet wonderfully entertaining, musical to provide this connection. The eight songs (arranged for 2-part treble voices and optional 3rd part for changing voices) are: We Have a Dream, We Know Everything, Mama Cried, Sit Down! We Shall Overcome, Green People, Dreamers, Born to Freedom, Wide World. People, Dreamersand Born to Freedom. Perf. Time: Approx 45 minutes. Grade Level: 7-9.
