My 7 year old son has owned this guitar for 2 years now. It has held up to all sorts of "rock bands" and still plays great. We have broken a few sets of strings, but other than that, the guitar still plays flawless. It is OK on it's own with the built in amp, but when connected to a full fledged amp, it rocks. I would recommend this for kids, as it is the right size, weight and quality, and sounds great.
