If you're looking to amplify an acoustic piano, you won't find a better solution than this Planar Wave Pickup/Preamp System from Barcus-Berry, one of the most renowned names in acoustic amplification!

A single Planar Wave System does the job that would otherwise take several microphones and a multi-channel mixer to achieve. Best of all, this system attaches easily to either side of the soundboard without holes to drill or any tools required! The Barcus-Berry Piano Planar Wave System reproduces the instrument's full frequency range with perfect amplitude balance. It provides excellent isolation from ambient sounds - with superior feedback rejection. It suppresses amplification of keyboard and pedal noise on a piano and is quick to set up with no holes to drill or tools required.

"From my perch at the far end of the main bar, the difference was like night and day. Suddenly, you could hear every note on the piano. Bass runs were distinct, and you could actually perceive the color of the pianist's voicings. After the first set, the vocalist remarked, [This is the first time I've been able to even hear the piano in this place.]"
- Keyboard Magazine

The Planar Wave System comes furnished with Barcus-Berry's 4000XL Piezo Buffer Preamp. The preamp has two outputs: one 1/4" jack (unbalanced) with 2K Ohm impedance, and one XLR jack (balanced) with a 1K Ohm impedance. The frequency response measures 5Hz to 30kHz (+/- 1dB). Other specs: S/N = 108dB, Noise = -105dBu, and THD - .005% @ 1 kHz. The unit will run on phantom power, or from a 9 volt battery.

Includes piezo crystal for piano.
