The coated drum head is slightly warmer than clear heads. They’re known for their bright warm tones, resonance, and sustain. Coated heads are best known as batter and resonant heads warming up the sound of tom-toms and bass drums.

Powerstroke® X snare drum heads are constructed with a coated single-ply 14-mil polyester film with a 2-mil inlay ring for easy tunability and overtone control. PX heads have great durability, attack, and volume for contemporary rock, funk and R&B applications. Tonally, the Powerstroke® X snare heads are perfect medium between the Coated and the Emperor X™.
