The X-Amp from Radial Engineering is an active re-amping device that allows an engineer or producer to take a pre-recorded guitar track that would be typically at line level and output a guitar level signal that can then be sent back to an amplifier/speaker or an effects box. This opens the door to explore new musical sounds and spur on the creative process since the unit will drive a guitar amplifier as if the player was still plugged into it.

Using the X-Amp is easy. One would for instance record a dry track using a high quality direct box then send this track from the recorder to the X-Amp and then to either guitar amps effect pedals or combinations thereof. This has many benefits. Once the basic track has been recorded replacing or adding tracks can be done well after the session player has gone home. This eliminates tiresome repetition and assures a fresh vibrant performance on the final recording. Furthermore by driving two amps at the same time new sounds and textures can be created allowing the engineer or producer to make artistic decisions as the recording progresses.

The X-Amp employs a Class-A circuit design that has been optimized for use with guitars. Features include balanced line level input with LED peak indicator and level control direct and isolated guitar amplifier outputs and polarity reverse to bring both amps into phase and dual ground lift options for noise-free operation. A welded I-beam internal skeleton provides a separate housing for maximum protection against external forces which may cause stress on the PC board assembly while the outside bookend cover provides a protective zone for the switches potentiometer and connectors.

"When my fiancé told me he wanted an acoustic guitar for his birthday, I had no idea how I was going to pull it off. However, this site made it very easy for me. It is very easy to find what you are looking for and the "related items" helped me pick out some accessories. I did experience a problem when it came to shipping. One of my items was reported as delivered by UPS. But when I contacted ActiveMusician, they sent out another stand right away, and it still arrived in time! I have nothing but good things to say about this site, and I have already started telling everyone about them!"

"I would just like to take the opportunity to thank you for your quality customer service. Buying things off of the internet is still a little nerve-wracking for me and can seem very impersonal, but you guys have been awesome, I appreciate your quick responses to the emails and the guitar sounds great! I would have no problem in making future purchases through you and would recommend your service to others."
